A Zen cook gets out of the way.
Yes, look! In a Zen cook’s offering to the assembly,
looking everywhere, nowhere to be found is the cook.
And yet how’s so in this and deeply supportive,
continuously reconfigured is the way of reality
by cause of such, and in profoundest love.
How’s so the work of the tenzo.
As Tenzo Hajime, I perform the function of the one
who makes such offerings of profoundest love
with reverence to the assembly of today. Please, enjoy.
De profundis
How’s so as axles freely connect wheels, wheels connect spaces and spaces connect axles, so too, do axles cut through and break down wheels, wheels spaces, and spaces axles. All axles, spaces and wheels are freely in connection and breaking down simultaneously: one gravel, the depth and breadth of which but a universal arm span. Indeed, wheels ever and freely wheel within such wheels, axles, spaces and in any and everything the way of ages has writ its guarantee: De profundis libertatis.
How’s so as axles freely connect wheels, wheels connect spaces and spaces connect axles, so too, do axles cut through and break down wheels, wheels spaces, and spaces axles. Therefore and earnest let your reply: “Out of the depths, a child of freedom”.
How’s so
As Tenzo Hajime turns the
Dharma wheel
Reality is shown in all its many forms
All suffering beings are liberated
Brought to great joy
Sincerely, Tenzo Hajime
“Here is the key to the great matter and secret of life and peace of mind: Hope, actual hope. Disinherit, abandon all hostility given you. Disinherited, abandoned, all hostility withers, and undernourished, abandoned, so loses its savor. Disinherited, undernourished and abandoned, so having lost its savor, withered, all hostility ceases to have any meaning for you, and, its meaning having ceased to be— vanishes. So, it is said, regnant among all things of heaven and of earth likewise, it is only Hope, such actual hope, that ever remained. “Abandon all hostility those who enter here” is upon the way of heaven given you, and in any and everything so inscribed. Such is the way and nature of Hope, actual hope also given you. Reflect upon this. What has been read: “given you,” is within you. You are free.”
